Our people, our communities. Community involvement is important to the Florida Retina Institute, as it is the community that we call home. We are active participants and foster wonderful partnerships with many local alliances, charities, societies, schools and local businesses.

B.A.L.D.Y. Athletics, Daytona Beach

B.A.L.D.Y. Athletics mission is to educate and empower youths with confidence, commitment, and integrity through organized athletics.

The largest 15K race in the United States includes the 15K, The Florida Times-Union 5K for Charity, the Junior River Run, and the Brooks Rehabilitation Challenge Mile.

Lake-Sumter Medical Society

Professional association of allopathic (M.D.) and osteopathic physicians (D.O.) dedicated to the care of their patients and their profession.

Lighthouse Central Florida

Charting a course for living, learning and earning with vision loss, offering a comprehensive range of services to people living with vision loss and blindness.

Lions Club International

Community Service Volunteer Work, serving in over 200 countries, in hospitals and senior centers, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and eyeglass recycling centers.

Northeast Florida Optometric Society

NEFOS, an Organization of Optometric Physicians dedicated to the eye health of our patients and the advancement of our profession.

Orange County Medical Society

SpecialCare is a network of volunteer specialty physicians and hospitals. The program is a partnership between the Orange County Medical Society and the Orange County Government.

Seminole County Medical Society

SCMS provides its physician members with a strong voice and active representation in local and state government, with regulatory agencies, and in community activities.

Sweetwater Episcopal Academy, Longwood

An education at Sweetwater Episcopal Academy is about more than just academics; we believe that a strong educational foundation also requires character development.

Tomoka Eye Foundation

Committed to the early detection of eye disease and assisting the visually impaired and blind with fundraisers such as “Tea & Biscuits”, which provides financial support to organizations that train of guide dogs.

U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots

Collecting new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

VIP's Mission is to serve as the premier community resource for improving the vision health of First Coast children and adults through screening, referral, and education.

Providing case management utilizing volunteer specialty physicians. Once assigned to a physician, clients will see their doctor in the privacy of the physician's office during regular business hours.
