His work has been presented at major meetings such as the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and EURETINA, reflecting a commitment to advancing clinical knowledge and innovation in retina care.


About Vasileios N. Pililis, MD

Dr. Vasileios Pililis is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. He is committed to providing compassionate, personalized care and achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.

Dr. Pililis earned his Medical degree with honors from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the largest academic institution in Greece. He subsequently completed his ophthalmology residency training at the same institution, in the largest and busiest academic ophthalmology department in the country, where he gained substantial experience in the medical and surgical management of the most complex ocular diseases.

He then relocated to the United States, where he pursued advanced subspecialty (fellowship) training in vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina at two of the leading academic institutions in the country: Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Yale University School of Medicine. During his fellowship training, he acquired extensive expertise in the medical and surgical management of complex vitreoretinal diseases.

Dr. Pililis's training across Greece and the United States enables him to provide comprehensive care for diverse patient populations with complex medical and surgical vitreoretinal diseases, utilizing the latest advances in the retinal field. Dr. Pililis is multilingual, with proficiency in English, Greek, and German.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Pililis enjoys traveling, watching movies, and cooking for friends.
