Research and Educational Experience

Dr. McCluskey has participated in numerous national and international clinical trials focused on advancing treatment for retinal disease. She has served as a sub-investigator on multiple DRCR Retina Network studies, including key trials evaluating anti-VEGF therapies, diabetic retinopathy prevention, and surgical versus pharmacologic treatment approaches.

Her research also includes involvement in Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials for emerging therapies in neovascular age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema, reflecting a long-standing commitment to improving patient outcomes through innovation in retina care.


About Jessica D. McCluskey, MD

Dr. Jessica McCluskey is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist with more than 16 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex retinal conditions. She is known for delivering compassionate, personalized care while achieving excellent surgical and visual outcomes.

Dr. McCluskey has extensive experience managing high patient volumes and performing advanced retinal procedures. She has also played a key role in building and expanding retina services across multiple locations, developing strong referral relationships and long-term patient trust. She is known for her approachable nature and dedication to building strong, lasting relationships with her patients.

Personal

Dr. McCluskey’s work centers on the care of complex retinal conditions, including macular disorders, retinal tears and detachments, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity, with a strong background in clinical research related to diabetic and neonatal eye disease. Outside of practice, she enjoys prioritizing time with her family and traveling whenever possible.
