Doctor Barnard holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Stetson University and earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed an internship and ophthalmology residency at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Ohio. Following residency training, Dr. Barnard completed a fellowship in retina at West Virginia University.

Doctor Dunn is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and received his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He also volunteers on third world eye missions, holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot and Single Pilot Jet Rating, and achieved the rank of Colonel, USAF, retiring with more than 30 years of active duty, guard and reserve service to our country. Doctor Lalwani holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from Smith College and received her medical degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University where she was elected chief resident. She then completed a fellowship in retina at the University of Miami-Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Doctor Lalwani was on faculty as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute for 4 years before Doctor Lalwani joined the Florida Retina Institute in June, 2011.

Doctor Mavrofrides received his medical degree from University of Florida College of Medicine. During his Ophthalmology Residency, completed at Baylor and Cullen Eye Institute, he received the Everett L. Goar Award for Best Resident in Research. Dr. Mavrofrides completed a fellowship in retina at the University of Miami-Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Doctor Moreno earned his Bachelor of Science and medical degrees from the University of Puerto Rico. He completed his ophthalmology residency from Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, where he was also the program director. After residency training, Dr. Moreno completed a fellowship in retina at Will’s Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Doctor Moreno joined Florida Retina Institute in July, 1991, he is also the medical director for Florida Retina Institute.

Doctor Staman received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida. Following residency training, Dr. Staman completed a fellowship in retina at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Doctor Staman is the founder of Florida Retina Institute, which he established in 1979. The Florida Retina Institute has been in practice for over 30 years.
